Move for Sciatic Nerve Pain Relief
Sciatica is the pain resulting from the contraction of the sciatic nerve which is situated on your lower back. The pain is something that extends from that area down to the buttocks and hamstrings, this makes certain actions almost impossible to do and may make you want to just lay down on your belly all day and wait for the pain to go away. By all means, get up! Lying down for bed rest isn’t going to give you sciatic nerve pain relief, keeping the muscles active make them stronger. Keeping your muscles stagnant will weaken them and may even cause the pain to worsen after sometime, so get off that couch, get yourself moving to get the pain going!
Be wary though, you have to consult a qualified health care expert about certain exercises first as some might not be helping your case at all. So be careful in overexerting your back, remember that we are doing this for long-term sciatic nerve pain relief, not permanent damage. There are several types of stretching that can be done.
Lie on your back, bend your knees and keep the soles flat on the floor, you should be like you are about to do sit-ups. Pull one knee to your chest and hold the position for five seconds, do this to the other leg and alternate for about 5 reps.
Also you can try to do this lying on your back with legs and arms free, lifting one leg at a time to a vertical position instead of pulling the knee to your chest. Do this for sciatic nerve pain relief whenever you feel a sudden surge of the pain, also in regular sessions to prevent recurring episodes of pain.
